Hola! Y bievenidos! I’m Miguel Hernandez from Las Vegas, Nevada, by way of Los Angeles, California. A self-proclaimed Art School drop-out, I’ve worked every job in restaurant and customer service until I was lucky enough to pursue a career as the first full-time resident artist for Zappos.com. Since then, my work has been featured in local and corporate businesses, art and music festivals, schools, and various charity events.
A loyal plant and pug dad, I’m always in search of an amazing taco truck and baseball game. Thanks for stopping by!
My creative inspiration comes from being able to create, color and enjoy the moments and beauty still among us. I take lots, I mean lots of pictures of landscapes, any scenery, flowers, and just anything I know i can reference and paint. I’m always sketching, composing and preparing for my next creative adventures. I generally love working on large scale art such as murals. I‘ve also make time for smaller works for my website and vending opportunities.
One of my favorite things to paint are flowers. I love painting it’s shapes, crevice, depths, colors and sizes. There’s so many lines, folds, and layers that go unseen. I try to capture and enhance as many of those visuals in paintings. They‘re very symbolic in representing countries, cultures and speak the gestures that we try to say without using any words. They last for as long as we need them and they leave us.
Art is very sacred to me and I value it very much. I’m very passionate about it. I appreciate great skill, talent and the endurance an artist taps into and focuses on. It’s a great feeling to see visually the artistic power in any work, but i especially love it in murals. I love experimenting and mixing mediums to create new visuals, ideas and worlds. I also challenge myself to be better, finer and faster with as many mediums I can get my hands on. I try to be the best that I can be and try to master my crafts within. There’s still some beauty left in the world and my purpose in life is to always translate it through art.
